about
Yixuan Zeng is a multidisciplinary visual artist who passionately believes in the immense power that art and storytelling have in affecting greater social change. As an illustrator and designer, they have worked on a variety of projects, from apparel to children’s books to emojis with Emojination (including 🦫 and 🫀).
In 2022, Yixuan moved into public art with the goal of bringing vibrant, larger than life murals to the diverse neighborhoods of the Greater Boston area. Their murals are consciously designed for the communities where the work inhabits; by drawing upon the history and culture of these places, Yixuan hopes that the people who feel the deepest connection to their murals are the residents who live right there and see them daily. A proud child to immigrant parents and a Boston native, Yixuan’s murals often explore themes of identity and connection: to our communities, to our history, to the natural world around us, and to the places and people we think of as home.
