We Protect Each Other
Window Mural at The Q Restaurant (660 Washington St.)
exterior paint on glass, 6’ x 6’4” (x2 windows); created for Pao Arts Center’s annuual event Experience Chinatown in Boston’s Chinatown, exhibiting September 1 – October 14 2023.

Designed in response to the prompt “what makes communities thrive?”, I use the imagery of 石獅 / shíshī who protect the home from harmful spirits as a symbol of the necessity of protecting your family and community, an act that requires continued strength and will. Communities thrive when we protect one another through intentional practices and mutual care. I hope these lions can serve as inspiration for us to become each other’s guardians in our own communities.
